Ash Parish Council is seeking a full time Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. The role involves servicing council and committee meetings, administering and managing all aspects of the Parish Council’s business. Experience as a Clerk or Deputy Clerk to a Parish Council is preferable but not essential.

Ash Parish Council has many responsibilities including a Cemetery, Allotments, Recreation Grounds, Play Areas and a Civic Centre.

Candidates must have at least 5 GCSE’s (A-C) or equivalent and have obtained, or be prepared to work towards the CiLCA or equivalent qualification. They should be skilled in the use of IT, have competent book keeping experience and good communication skills and an ability to negotiate at all levels.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing budgets, ensuring that the Council acts lawfully in all matters, and for managing a team of 12 staff to ensure the smooth running of this busy council.

Management of facilities and experience of working with the community is also desirable.
